Our roots run deep in the Reformation—its theology, its courage, its five solas. But we’re also reFOrmed with an F for fun and an O for open-minded. What is the Syndicate?
A syndicate is a group of individuals or organizations combined to promote some common interest. We are a group of church leaders promoting God-centered, mature pastoral leaders who are effective in multiplying disciples and churches. For that to happen, we will need an ongoing fraternal network to fan into flame the vision God has for each leader and church. We’re in it for the long haul, and the Syndicate is the ongoing vehicle where we’re going to continue to take ground for His glory.
What is the difference between the Genesis Formation Year and the Syndicate?
The Genesis Formation Year is the foundational formation year where pastoral leaders are grounded in the Gravitas way of the leader and the Gravitas way of leading. The Syndicate is an ongoing network that, Lord willing, will last a lifetime, where various activities from coaching and onsite retreats to families doing life together will take place.
What exactly will the Syndicate do?
After pastoral leaders successfully graduate from the foundational Genesis Formation Year, they will be invited to apply to the Syndicate. The Syndicate will offer coaching, training, onsite events, and deeper learning communities on the core topics taught in our pathway. We will be responsive to the demand from the leaders who are a part of the Syndicate, and find ways to develop them according to what they need. We also desire to do life together, so envision a whole lot of fun vacationing together, offering fun events, and enjoying many meals and much time together.
What will prevent me from participating in the Syndicate?
We don’t want you wondering if you’ll be disqualified from the Syndicate-that is highly unlikely. Once you graduate from the Genesis foundational year, you will have been grounded in the principles and rhythms we seek to live by. If you desire to continue in those-you’re in! The application process is designed to confirm your character and commitment to continuing to live the Gravitas way of the leader and the Gravitas way of leading. The only reasons you would be prevented from participating are: (1) not meeting the biblical qualifications for elders, (2) being a pastor who is not currently serving in a pastoral role (with grace extended if you are between positions and intend to serve again), or (3) being divisive or misaligned with the vision of Gravitas.
How much will the Syndicate membership cost?
Membership fees will be based on a sliding scale. It is required that each pastoral leader pay something to participate. We will provide a guide for you with recommended fees based on your current ministry situation. We will be doing our part to ask donors to subsidize this work, so please fret not and trust King Jesus to provide.
We exist to form leaders the way Jesus did—through intentional, relational apprenticeship.

Meet Dr. Brian Williamson
Dr. Brian Williamson is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, pastor of 18 years, and a PhD in Organizational Leadership who has led in contexts from rural churches to megachurches to the marketplace. A global coach to pastors and an expert in leader formation, Brian is driven by one conviction: in the local church, theology must inform leadership, and the Holy Spirit must empower it. He equips Spirit-filled, Christ-exalting leaders to own their identity, navigate complexity, and unleash their God-designed potential.
